About Me

Hi, I'm Melissa. Working with wool is my passion. 

I am drawn to fiber and textile arts as a canvas for expression and storytelling.

Fauna Fibers was born naturally out of my desire to play with color on my newest favorite medium- wool yarn.

I chose the name “fauna” after my favorite type  of fibers- natural animal fibers. Every skein of yarn is hand dyed by me in small batches with professional dyes. Each handmade item is hand knitted by me, likely while watching Netflix at home.

Aside from knitting, I am likely hiking or running, at rock n' roll shows, exploring used book stores, drinking strong coffee or sour beers, or petting all the cats.
